My thrifted prom ~

Well, just the dress. But that’s where the beauty lies!

Last year I spent over 500$ total on prom. Dress, shoes, accessories and such. THIS YEAR, I spent a tiny fraction of that.

Because it wasn’t my senior prom, I knew I didn’t need to find the perfect dress. But alas, I just happened upon it! One day I was thrifting and I just decided to go to the dress section. I looked through the dresses with none of them worth picking up. When I was just about to leave the section, I reached over for a second longer and looked at the black dresses. And there it was. For $9.99.

Christopher wanted to DIY/Customize our prom, so we decided to spike things. :) We just bought gold spikes and spiked his bow tie, my shoes, and my clutch. It was a nice bit of edge to our otherwise classy outfits.

So,
The dress was $9.99 from Thrift Town.
Suede/leather strappy heels - BRAND NEW - $9.99
Black silk and feathered clutch - BRAND NEW - $5
Spiked ring - BRAND NEW - $2.80

Total ~ 28$

To put this into a better perspective, Christopher spent more on his velvet bowtie than I did on my outfit!

While I’m aware that I was lucky in my find, it’s easy to see that you don’t have to spend a bunch of money to look like you did. :)

I more than fell in love with my look for prom this year. I hope you guys are a little more willing to look to thrift stores for your prom~
